The Minimum Wage good or bad ?

Who decides on the level of the national minimum wage?

Ultimately it's the government. They receive a recommendation from the Low Pay Commission about the level of the national minimum wage, and decide on whether the recommendations should be implemented or not.

It has raised the living standards of the lowest paid, and helped close the gap between men and women's pay.

http://www.minimumwage.org.uk/news.asp

this article claims to be Unisons championing the low paid they are patting themselves on the back for getting the NMW raised by a massive 7p.

In my opinion this figure is being used by Companies all over the country to gauge what the wage is that they can compete with. I.e they can pay illegals anything upto this amount before employing the millions of unemployed who expect to be paid this amount. I know that this is illegal, but as in the Baroness Scotland fiasco checks are very rarely made and employers are not prosecuted to the letter of the law.

To introduce a minimum wage means that all the unemployed people are open to be discriminated against by all illegals looking for work, and employers seeking to get the lowest paid workforce. In fact it is probably used as a gauge all over the world to which other countries can undercut our manufacturing base.

*An example of this could be:
A UK electrician could be commanding a £20 an hour job.
A Polish Electrician can take a wage above the minimum wage say £10 an hour.

The Polish worker would be entitled to claim child benefit for any children they have, and would most likely share accomodation with 10 others sleeping in shifts etc.

The companies Employing the foreign workers can undercut the UK workers and ship in their own employees to do the jobs. This is wrong and is discriminating against the UK worker whos cost of living is higher.

* I have to confess this was a bit of info given by Bertie bert on our Paltalk discussion.

When did our Monarchy lose it's head?

When was our country deprived of Its most powerful figure, when exactly did our government politically behead our queen ?

After doing some research I think I now know.

a constitutional monarchy

In Britain, the Glorious Revolution of 1688 led to a constitutional monarchy restricted by laws such as the Bill of Rights 1689 and the Act of Settlement 1701, although limits on the power of the monarch ('A Limited Monarchy') are much older than that (see Magna Carta).

I've been wondering of late wether this situation could be reversed, i've been hoping that our future Monarchs' service with the armed forces may be an elaborate plan for him to get to know his generals, and to seek their views on the current form of government. Wether Britains shot in the arm maybe to revert to a Monarchist rule with the PM and government answerable to his will.

Has the Blueblood been watered down so much, that the peoples fate is no longer a concern for our current Royalty, will the seizing back of power ever be achievable by a single person?

I'll tell you this if he called for it I would follow.

manifesto jobs/healthcare/education/defence

a few thoughts....

jobs for Britain?
Elderly need more care ?
Schools curriculum should be focussed on providing better ways to care for our Elderly.
This is a growing market its also an ethical and morally right thing to do, as people are living longer, more people should be employed to make their lives as comfortable as possible.

I'm not saying more ways should be made to prolong ones lifespan, because I'm sure some Elderly people feel worn out, although the moral argument here is if we make the elderly more comfortable, why wouldn't they want to live longer, but wouldn't that mean more jobs?

i'm a bit uncomfortable writing this, as in this day and age the Elderly seems to be a taboo subject probably because of the stigma associated with the word Retirement, ie time to stop going full pelt and to slow down take it easy, have some fun, although i'm sure there are plenty of young people out there who go out and have fun quite regularly.

my point is our generation work and play in equal amounts, some more some less, the people who are pensioners, have contributed to our way of life why shouldnt they be helped to live out the remainder of their lives the way most of this generation do.

People describe retirement as the beginning of the end why?

why not make retirement something to look forward too?

why not say once you get to 60 you've hit the jackpot, you can go and visit all the places you've wanted to.

in the science departments treatments and medicines will be top priority for Elderly and sick, even more opportunity for schools cirriculum .

people should have in 60 years led a full and fruitful life,

aptitude tests should be made through our entire lives, as some of us are very slow learners, and mature slower.

medicine and healthcare should be encouraged not business and finance agriculture and commerce, although the market is still there for these issues but wages should be structured so as not to favour one or the other as all these issues are important.

some people love their work and don't wish to retire, this is their option and they can review it yearly.

of course this would put the need for immigration at a minimum as people will work till 60 at reaching 60 so I'm sure they'll do their utmost, to leave behind a culture who will care the same for them.

fitness, will improve people will want to be fit at 60 so they can really start to enjoy themselves.

binge drinking and youth yobbishness will be fazed out through education and eating and health issues

a place for muscle aswell as intelligence is the army, this will be our security for achieving a fond farewell, we wont be fighting other peoples wars

crime will drop as the culture changes to respect the elderly, and work hard for your final reward.

does this sound ok ?

Immigration

The EU force us to take immigrants, there is nothing we can do about it,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmtfELVwRfA&feature=related
immigrants enrich our country, ok lets do the maths,

100 immigrants bring over (not sure on the limit to dependants that a worker can have, there doesn't seem to be one) let's say 7 family members each = 800 so we have 100 skilled workers and 700 family members

for convenience lets say, each workers family consists of 2 kids and 2 pensioners and 2 aunts/uncles, mothers and or fathers of worker and his spouse.
so for every 100,000 skilled workers we have 700,000 unskilled workers, this seems a very significant number of unskilled labour, now these 700,000 unskilled workers have children too, not the pensioners but the children now the 200,000 children get married have children lets say 2 again that's another 400,000, aunts and uncles marry too and have 2 kids each thats another 400,000, so we have potentially unskilled workers within the first generation 1,500,000

so in 16 years we will have 100,000 workers 1,500,000 unskilled workers (are there university places available for these new British immigrants), lets say 100,000 new workers come in each year so 16 x 1,500,000 = 24,00,000 seems a bit high so lets halve it 12,000,000 this is a not too unreasonable assumption of the results of immigration on population growth. Factor in another 2,000,000 illegals and 10,000,000 asylum seekers and their families, then you have a very significant number 24,000,000 added to the population, of which 1,600,000 are workers.

this is just a simple understanding of immigration other variables come into this, i.e. the number. of dependants is not known, people lose their jobs and go home, but not very many.

Conspiracy Theory

Have our top brass had the wool pulled over their eyes, or will our armed forces meld into the UN's Disaster Prevention Army, with a few fat and wealthy decorated Generals, all that is left of the once great British Army ?

The pieces have been placed, the next move is crucial, the army is off in a foreign land, the new Emperor in waiting awaits his coronation, the international trade federation (G20) is meeting to discuss which Nation to fleece next, and how long can they get away with it. Their use of the Muslim boot boys is wearing a bit thin, and their taxation of the once great countries is inflaming the populace.

the 5 new players in the great game of chaos, USA, USSR, EU, INDIA, CHINA, are readying to divide up the apple on which they rule. Most if not all of the fanatical Muslims are in Pakistan/Afghanistan Training new recruits on the remnants of the once great army of Brits, with one surgical campaign, the head of Islam would be Severed, and the oil problem would be solved for another century at least. Once Pakistan has fallen, Iran, Libya and all the N African states would follow if not by force then by capitulation.

What you may wonder what will happen at home when news of this reaches the sons of Islam, scattered through out Europe and the USA, well I'm afraid to say it will be up to the locals to put them down. The phrase " Blood on the streets" springs to mind again.
